This All Started With God
Before there was light or land, purpose or process, there was God. He looked into the nothingness and spoke the sun, the moon, the stars, and this little blue marble you and I are riding on through space into existence. He didnโt need help. He didnโt need agreement. He simply spoke, and creation beganโHis words were enough.
Walking with Him over the years has reminded me of something I forget all too easily: God does not need me to make everything right, to make something good out of what looks like nothing, or to make straight what is crooked.
His is still on the throne of the universe. He is still seated upon the circle of the earth. He is not anxious. He never reacts. He laughs at all the threats and accusations of the enemy.
The answer to the prayer Jesus told us to pray will be fulfilled: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
He knows exactly how all of this endsโwith His perfect will accomplished, and Him once again declaring, โIt is very good.โ
That truth brings relief, it brings clarity, and it brings peace to my soul.
Our Part Is Simple
If God is not asking me to fix everything, what is He asking of me?
Scripture answers it simply and clearly:
โThe Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.โ (Micah 6:8)
Not to carry the weight of the world.
Not to outmaneuver the enemy.
Not to control outcomes.
Just to do what is right and good, be merciful, and humbly walk with Him. I can do that!
Today, rest in this: the God who began it all will finish it all. And our partโsmall but sacredโis to walk with Him along the way.
